Table of contents
Pick the extension for the part of applying that slows you down. Simplify offers autofill plus tailoring and tracking. Teal helps save roles into a tracker. Huntr combines clipping and autofill with resume tools. Jobscan connects job saving with resume matching. There is no single winner for every application workflow.
The four options below have published Chrome-extension offerings. ApplyArc's web tracker is also covered for readers who prefer manual entry; its extension is waitlist-only.
How we compared them: We checked official product and help pages on 5 September 2026. These are vendor-published capabilities, not results from installing the extensions or benchmarking their accuracy. ApplyArc publishes this guide and benefits if you choose its tracker. We do not infer ATS success, interview outcomes or compatibility with every site from a feature list.
Compare the available extensions
| Extension | Consider it for | Verify on your own workflow |
|---|---|---|
| Simplify Copilot | Repeated application fields, resume tailoring and application tracking | Whether the current form is supported and each answer is correct |
| Teal Job Search Companion | Saving a selected listing into a job tracker | Captured title, company and description; manual entry when a page is not recognised |
| Huntr | Clipping jobs, application autofill and connected resume tools | Site compatibility and which AI features your plan includes |
| Jobscan | Keeping job cards beside resume-match feedback | Saved job details and what the match feedback can actually tell you |
Simplify: try it when repeated fields are the bottleneck
Simplify's official Copilot page lists autofill, resume feedback and automatic tracking for applications submitted with Copilot. It says unlimited autofill, its tracker, job matches and its basic resume builder remain free; its separate Simplify+ page lists paid AI tailoring and writing features.
Try it on one supported application you already intend to complete. Inspect employment dates, work-authorisation answers and attachments before submission. A correct name and email do not prove the rest of a form is right. See Simplify's current Simplify+ features and prices for current paid options.
Teal: try it when collecting selected roles is the bottleneck
Teal's help guide describes opening the companion on a job post, checking the populated information and saving it to Teal. When a page is not recognised, its Add Job Form supports manual entry. This makes capture quality, rather than a headline board count, the useful test.
Teal publishes a free job tracker. Check its current pricing for paid resume and analysis features; saving a role and using an AI feature are different allowances.
Huntr: try it when you want clipping and autofill together
Huntr publishes a job clipper and application autofill alongside its tracker, resume tailoring and cover-letter tools. The official Chrome listing and plan page are the places to check access and limits.
Save one role, inspect the captured details and check whether the resume workflow uses the intended job description. Do not assume every feature in the web product is free or runs inside the extension.
Jobscan: try it when job capture and resume matching need to stay together
Jobscan publishes a free job tracker and a Chrome extension that saves listings into job cards. Its tracker page also describes launching a resume scan from a listing, so you can keep the selected vacancy beside its match feedback.
Treat a match score as feedback from that tool, not an employer's pass mark or an interview prediction. Check the current Jobscan plan for scan allowances before paying. For help interpreting scores, read our ATS checker guide.
Test one application before choosing a plan
Use this checklist on a vacancy you genuinely want. Do not send a test application to an employer.
| Step | A useful result | Stop and correct if… |
|---|---|---|
| Save the role | Title, company and original link match the vacancy | The wrong listing or missing details were captured |
| Review the form | Profile fields and eligibility answers are accurate | A required answer was guessed or omitted |
| Check the document | The intended CV version is attached | A generated claim is unsupported or the file is wrong |
| Submit deliberately | The employer confirms receipt | Only a filled form or saved card exists |
| Reopen the record | Status and next action reflect what happened | The tracker says applied before submission |
This test gives you a concrete reason to keep an extension. You can compare whether it removes your actual repetitive work before evaluating a paid tier. It does not benchmark accuracy across other sites.
Prefer to track jobs without an extension?
Use manual entry in the web tracker. An account is required to save jobs; ApplyArc's extension remains waitlist-only.
Check permissions and site rules before installing
Google explains extension permission warnings: access may include reading or changing data on websites. Check the publisher and requested access. Where supported, use Chrome's site-access controls to limit an extension to the sites where you need it, and remove extensions you no longer use.
A Chrome listing is not permission from every job board. LinkedIn prohibits third-party scraping and automated activity. A vendor advertising LinkedIn support does not settle whether a particular action is permitted. If you need bulk data rather than selected job capture, read the separate LinkedIn scraper and export guide.
Prefer a web tracker without an extension?
ApplyArc's web tracker lets you manually enter a title, company, job link and description after sign-in. Start with one role, record the next action and update the status when you have actually applied. Its extension is waitlist-only; the planned first release is a dashboard shortcut, with browser saving on the roadmap. It does not currently offer public extension-based clipping or autofill.
See the web tracker. An account is required to save jobs. The comparison and application checklist above are available without signing up; choose an installable extension from the four options if browser capture or autofill is your requirement.

What is the best Chrome extension for job applications?
Choose by the task: Simplify publishes autofill, resume tailoring and application tracking; Teal focuses its companion on saving jobs into a tracker; Huntr combines clipping and autofill with resume tools; Jobscan connects job saving with resume matching. Test the part you need on your actual application site before committing to a paid plan.
Does ApplyArc have an installable Chrome extension?
ApplyArc's extension is waitlist-only. Its planned first release is a dashboard shortcut; browser job saving is on the roadmap. The web tracker is available for manual job entry after sign-in, and this guide does not present it as an installable extension or an autofill tool.
Can I use these extensions in Chrome on my phone?
This comparison is for desktop Chrome. Google's phone workflow can add an extension to your desktop browser; it does not install that extension into mobile Chrome. Check a provider's separate mobile or web offering if you apply on a phone.
Does autofill mean my application has been submitted?
No. Review the filled fields, attached CV, eligibility answers and consent choices, then submit through the employer's application process yourself. Verify the confirmation before marking the job as applied. Do not assume an extension works on every site or permits activity that the site prohibits.
